CI 395 Fleet Refurbishment is Highly Commended at 2025 Rail Staff Awards

Diamond Rail Services has completed a full turnkey refurbishment of the Cl395 fleet for Hitachi Rail and Southeastern. The refurbishment of the 29 x 6car units included project management of the interior scope. This included interior paint, seat refurbishment, floor covering replacement, toilet floor modification and powder coating as well as labour provision and procurement for the project. The project completed in May 2025 and was a resounding success for all stakeholders. The project received Highly Commended at the Rail Staff Awards in November 2025 in the category of Project of the Year.

This project has shown Diamond Rail Service’s capability to complete a multi scope project with a lot of data tracking and lessons taken along the way. Diamond Rail can offer a reliable and proven service to other customers using the same processes that delivered superb results on the Cl 395 Project.
