Diamond Engineering Expands Machining Capability with New CNC Vertical Borer

Diamond Engineering has continued to invest in its machining capabilities with the arrival of a new 72″ EV CNC vertical borer, adding further capacity and flexibility to its growing machine shop.
The new machine has been supplied with a number of upgrades to increase its capability beyond the standard specification. It features a larger 78″ table, FANUC control system and a 2m elevating rail, allowing Diamond Engineering to accommodate larger components than was previously possible.

This new machine represents another step in the continued development of Diamond Engineering’s machining operation. The company has been investing significantly in its manufacturing facilities, with the latest vertical borer following the successful installation of a Soraluce FS10000 floor boring machine earlier in the year.
The Soraluce FS10000 has now been operational for several months and is already playing an important role within the machine shop. Its arrival represented a significant increase in Diamond Engineering’s machining capability, particularly for large and complex components, and the latest vertical borer further strengthens that position.
Together, the two investments demonstrate the company’s approach to developing its manufacturing capabilities around the needs of its customers. Rather than simply adding equipment, Diamond Engineering is focused on increasing the range of work it can accommodate, improving efficiency and creating additional capacity for future projects.
The latest machine will also sit alongside the company’s existing range of CNC and conventional machining equipment, giving the team greater choice when determining the most suitable and efficient process for each component.
For Diamond Engineering, continued investment in equipment is an important part of its long-term development. By expanding the size and type of components that can be machined in-house, the company is strengthening its ability to provide a more comprehensive manufacturing service while continuing to develop the skills, capacity and infrastructure of its machine shop.
The new vertical borer is now becoming part of that wider capability, further increasing the scope of what Diamond Engineering can offer from its South Yorkshire manufacturing facility.
