Diamond Supports Seat-y of Culture

Diamond Rail Services, together with Camira Fabrics and LNER are supporting a fantastic initiative to celebrate Railway 200 and Bradford 2025 city of culture.
There were 500 entries from children aged 5-15 from schools across Bradford to design a new railway seat moquette with focus on careers in rail and manufacturing. The winner is 12 year old Khyreece from Oastlers school in bradford. Diamond Rail Services were thrilled to host him and his class on 11th March to show them the moquette that has been manufactured by Camira. Diamond showed the children the manufacturing process and how the material is turned into a seat cover.
There will be 26 seats installed on LNER Intercity 225 at the end of March, and Kyhreece will also enjoy a trip to London with his family on behalf of the operator.

“It has been a fantastic initiative to be part of, and it was great to see all the designs making it a tricky judging decision. I am looking forward to the launch and seeing the seats installed on the train. It was lovely to host the children and talk to them about opportunities and careers in rail and how working hard and attitude prevails” – Jenny Dempsey, Managing Director, Diamond Rail Services
Diamond Rail Services are grateful to have been part of the initiative with an opportunity to give to the community and share the experience with all those involved.
