Diamond Engineering’s Josh Walker competes in WorldSkills UK competition

Diamond Group is proud to recognise the achievements of apprentice fabricator Josh, who recently represented the company in the national qualifying heat of the WorldSkills UK Metal Fabricator competition.
Held in July, the competition brought together some of the UK’s most talented young fabricators, challenging them to produce a precision-fabricated scale millhouse using technical drawings provided on the day. Competitors were assessed on a range of criteria, including their technical proficiency across various processes and dimensional accuracy.
Josh produced an excellent piece of work, demonstrating the high standards of skill, dedication and craftsmanship that Diamond Engineering strives to develop through its apprenticeship programme.
Despite an outstanding performance, Josh narrowly missed qualification for the national finals by just 1.5 points. While qualification was agonisingly close, there remains a possibility that Josh could still secure a place in the finals should a qualifying competitor withdraw or become ineligible.
Everyone at Diamond Engineering is incredibly proud of Josh’s achievement: it is a testament to his hard work, commitment and potential, and we look forward to seeing his continued development in the years ahead.
